Amanda Wright, DO is the dean of the Tom and Julie Wood College of Osteopathic Medicine (MU-WCOM) and an associate professor of family medicine. She directs and oversees all aspects of medical education, ensuring the program fulfills 91会所’s mission, goals, and strategic plan. She promotes the advancements of scientific knowledge and scholarship among the faculty, strongly focuses on clinical residencies, and is responsible for planning, budgeting, supervising, and evaluating personnel and programs within the College and for compliance with accreditation standards.
Prior to joining 91会所, Dr. Wright was associate dean of clinical medicine at the Arkansas College of Osteopathic Medicine. Prior to that, Dr. Wright was the osteopathic family medicine program director at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria/UnityPoint Health Methodist. Before her transition into academic medicine, Dr. Wright had a full-spectrum family medicine practice in Peoria, Illinois. She continues to practice clinically with local family medicine residency programs and at the Near West Free Clinic.
Dr. Wright received her undergraduate degree in biology and pre-medicine from Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College in Terre Haute, Indiana. She earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree at the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her family medicine residency at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria (UICOMP).
